M E Students Help Bring Health Care to Kenyan Youth

The Swahili word “harambe” means to come together as one. In parts of Africa, the number of inhabitants per medical doctor is as high as 50,000 to one. Some might think this is of little relevance to mechanical engineers; however, a Penn State initiative has brought together a multi-disciplinary group of students – including mechanical engineers – to use their skills and talents to make health care more accessible to the youth population of Kenya.
